A Film About Mental Health

The script for I’m Still Here was written in September of 2019 as a creative writing project for an Arts and Society seminar course I was taking in my first year at the University of Toronto. Based off a traumatic experience from high school, the script explores drama therapy, a therapy technique where someone involved in a traumatic event participates in a dramatic reenactment of the experience. The script deals with second-hand trauma, the role of art in the healing process, and the tension between avoidance and confrontation.
