In my second year at the University of Toronto, I took a screenwriting course taught by the wonderful and charismatic poet and filmmaker, Daniel Scott Tysdal. The final assignment for his course was a pitch competition–where we presented one of our short screenplays to judges from the Toronto International Film Festival and OUAT Media. My black comedy screenplay for Yes, and Murder, which had been workshopped and met with great reception in the course, was selected by the judges as a winner.
